So, my Lonely Planet guide says not to miss the flamingos and other birds that hang out in the national park in the form of a lagoon in Moulay Bousselham. Let me be frank: it's a cute town with a gorgeous park and beach, but don't attempt visiting without a car. If you don't have a car, see the flamingos on the bus route in Oualidia.
Once we got over the trauma of travels, we hired a "guide" who took us out to see flamingos on the lagoon. I really, really wanted to see the flamingos. He told us not to pay him if we didn't see them. And we did. They're kick ass cool, I just love them. They do this kind of delicate march with one leg lifting high up, then the other meets the first leg's location, and so on. It's very graceful, and they march along in unison with the group.
So, without further ado, here are some pictures to prove we survived the train stop with no platform, grand taxis and dusty lanes and so on.
Boats on the lagoon, like the one we hired.
HQ for the eco protection agency.
An egret, and flamingos!!!
The ocean really is something, isn't it?
So was the sunset...
We sure have been lucky with the weather for our trip. Keeping my fingers crossed that it holds. We're in Marrakech now, and it's downright hot during the day. Will write more about that in coming days.
