Palaces and museums

We went to two lovely museums yesterday that are former riads and palaces, the Bahia Palace and Dar si Said. In fact, visiting dignitaries still stay at the Bahia sometimes. They're remarkable even if you don't check out the exhibits, just as beautiful buildings full of the artistry that exemplifies Morocco's history. Not many words needed to describe them!

Even in March, the sun is so strong here, I can really understand why these shady courtyards are so necessary!

I wish I could commission a painted ceiling like these. Aren't they spectacular?

Ditto for painted doors.

Isn't this stained glass window pretty?

I really loved this cool little gazebo with a fountain. The Sound of Music should have used this one!
